With recent rainfall and warmer weather, fishing for crappie and white bass is heating up statewide. These species are beginning their annual spawning routines by moving into shallower water, making them easily accessible to bank anglers.

Last Wednesday the State Board of Education voted to continue the shutdown, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, through the end of the academic year for all school districts. In a corresponding move, the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association Board voted unanimously to cancel all sporting events for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.
As of last week, all sporting events involving Seiling Public Schools have been suspended due to the recent pandemic of COVID-19. While the initial plan is for kids to return school on April 6, that date is tentative with a strong possibility of it being extended or even having the rest of the school year cancelled.

Last week was meant to be the start of the Junior High baseball season, but both Monday’s contest against Shattuck and Friday’s contest against Thomas were cancelled for various reasons. However, Coach Bryan Gore and the Wildcats are set to hit the diamond in the coming weeks.
