Despite missing her senior track season, Nyberg excited for future at Rogers State

As a result of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association was forced to cancel all spring sports, effectively ending the athletic careers for seniors across the state. For Seiling’s Brya Nyberg, that means not only losing out on the opportunity to go after her first gold medal since her freshman year.

Former Poke Jarwin to donate signing bonus portion

Last month, current- Dallas Cowboy and former OSU Cowboy, Blake Jarwin signed a new contract worth $22M over the stretch of the next four years, including as much as $9.25M guaranteed and a $4M signing bonus that will be prorated over the life of the contract. However, Jarwin will be sending some of that bonus to his alma mater, in response to the recent shutdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the cancellation of the OFBCA State Powerlifting Meet, athletes from all over the state will not get the opportunity to compete for a State Medal in the final event of the season. For Seiling, senior Payton Gregory was a strong favorite to earn a medal for the first time in his fourth-straight appearance at the event, dating back to his freshman year at Sharon- Mutual.
