The Seiling fifth and sixth-grade football team had a rough night against the Laverne Tigers last Monday. While the Wildcats were able to score late in the contest to avoid being shutout, they had little success as the fell to Laverne, 38-8.
As the district portion of the schedule approaches, the Seiling Wildcats will be entering it with a losing record at 2-3. Last Friday, Coach Gary Manuel and the team traveled to Snyder to take on Manuel’s Alma mater where the Wildcats fell 42-20.
The Seiling Lady Cats saw their softball season come to an end last Thursday after loses to the Mooreland Lady Bearcats and Laverne Lady Tigers eliminated them from the playoffs. In the opening game of the four-team bracket, Seiling could get little going against a talented Mooreland team in 14-0 loss.
Despite entering the playoffs on a five-game losing-streak, and having lost six of their last seven, the Seiling softball team traveled to Vici last Thursday and Friday to win three of four contests, with the final win earning them the District Championship over the Lady Indians.
