Young Cats wrap up track season in Okeene
The Seiling fifth and sixth-grade track teams traveled to Okeene last Wednesday to take part in the Whippet Relays for their final meet of the year. The girls ended strong by capturing second place at the meet, and the boys took fourth place.
For the Lady Cats, the girls put up 118.33 points, just under 27 shy of beating out Timberlake for the title. The relays were dominant for Seiling as they collected 48 points. In the mile relay, the girls finished fourth with a time of 6:07.44.
They won the 800-meter relay with a time of 2:07.82, while also winning the 400-meter relay in 1:01.39. In addition, Seiling also fielded a second 400-meter relay squad that finished fifth with a time of 1:04.75.
In the 100-meter dash, Carey Rogers finished second with a time of 15.59, while Kimber Manuel came in just behind her in third with a time of 16.01 seconds. Manuel also took third place in the shot put with her throw of 25 feet, four inches, while Emerson Smart finished sixth with a toss of 23 feet, three inches.
