Wildcats fighting for positioning at Laverne
With just one game left before the playoffs, Coach Gary Manuel and the Seiling Wildcats still have a lot of questions left unanswered heading into their final regular-season contest against the Laverne Tigers. A 7-0 start to the season, and the momentum that came with it, is suddenly starting to sputter towards the finish line as Seiling has dropped its last two games.
While a lot remains up in the air with where Seiling will finish in district, and who they will be playing in the first round of the playoffs, Coach Manuel knows the most important factor is getting back to playing good football.
With a victory of 13 points or more over Laverne, Seiling would finish in second place in the district, whereas a loss would result in the Wildcats placing fourth. Seiling has also run into a stretch of bad luck on the injury front, as starting linebacker Kolten Whetstone and backup running back Jacob Klaver both missed last week’s contest against Shattuck.
