Wildcats 2nd in Bi-County; Fouls plague Lady Cats

Following a make-shift off week for the Seiling High School basketball teams, the two squads participated in the Bi-County Tournament in Elk City. At three-day event, the boys finished second after falling to Hammon in a battle of ranked opponents in the Championship Game. However, the girls followed up an openinground victory over Granite to suffer back-to-back losses for the first time this season.

The boys kicked off their second-place effort with a Thursday-night matchup with the Granite Panthers in which the boys were dominant from start to finish. Every player on the Seiling roster scored in the opening game, led by Garrett Ledford and Taylin Gilchrist who each tallied eleven points.

Whether it was the Wildcats’ relentless defense or the 13 threes in the 84-28 shellacking, Granite had no answers for the Seiling attack. Carson Nelson and Trent Wolfmule also added nine points each, and Riley Tune scored seven as well.
