Wildcat footballers place eight on All-District
Although the finish wasn’t what they had hoped thanks to a plethora of injuries down the stretch, the Seiling High School football team earned enough respect from league coaches to place eight on the All-District teams.
The Wildcats began the year with seven straight wins and were rapidly climbing their way up the state rankings before injuries finally became too much to overcome, including losing a pair of veteran linebackers and top tacklers for the season.
“It was obviously a little disappointing the way we finished the year,” head coach Gary Manuel commented. “We were playing very well and then the injury bug just hit us in a major way. Losing a pair of starting linebackers is tough to overcome and we just couldn’t make enough plays in their absence.
