Top Five Sports Moments for 2019-20: #5 Boys comeback victory for District Title

Over the course of the academic school year, Seiling was privileged to see some truly special feats from the young athletes representing the Wildcats. For the first of this fivepart series, we take a look at an outstanding comeback by the high school boys’ basketball team over the Canton Tigers for the district championship.

While the Wildcats defeated Canton for the title on February 15, this matchup actually started five nights earlier when Seiling traveled to Canton for the Tigers’ Senior Night. With both teams aware that the two would likely be facing off again over the weekend, the Monday night contest was an opportunity for both squads to measure each other up for the first time of the season.

Both teams came out shooting the ball well, before the Wildcats were able to rally to take a one-point advantage. In the second half, Coach Brandon Nyberg made the call to switch to a half-court trap defense that would turn out to be huge in Seiling taking control of the game.
