Seiling steamrolls Hinton for Homecoming wins
After weather spoiled Seiling’s matchup with Vici on Tuesday, the high school teams saw their only action of the week come on Friday in their Homecoming Game with Hinton. After Riley Tune and Kathryn Rogers were named Homecoming King and Queen, both teams would hit the hardwood for a pair of victories over the visiting Comets.
For the Lady Wildcats, their aggressive defense was as stingy as usual as they only gave up six points in the opening frame. However, Seiling’s offense didn’t capitalize on that success as has become the custom.
The Lady Cats managed just 12 points on their own in the opening frame, but the sixpoint advantage would only be the beginning on this night. Hinton continued to struggle offensively as the lead grew to 13, and in the second half, Seiling hit their stride.
Four shots from beyond the arc led to an offensive outbreak for the Lady Wildcats, and a 22-point frame. From there, the Lady Comets had no answers as the score quickly soared as high as 30 points, and Seiling went on to win 56-27.
