Seiling softball splits opening week contests
Coach Bryan Gore’s youth-laden Seiling Lady Cats opened the season last week by splitting a half dozen contests, many against quality opposition.
Seiling began the season by coming from behind to defeat Waynoka, 3-2, and following with a 16-0 whitewashing of the same club.
They then notched one win in the always rugged Woodward Invitational, blasting Class 5A Guymon, 11-1, before bowing out with a narrow 9-7 defeat against Laverne.
The Lady Cats are slated to host Thomas Thursday as well as powerhouse Arnett on Monday for their next outings.
In the Waynoka opener, the Lady Cats needed a dramatic final inning rally to pull out the 3-2 victory.
