

Seiling, Laverne compete in preseason scrimmage
Last week the Seiling Wildcats played host to the Laverne Tigers in their annual fall scrimmage prior to the start of the football schedule. Originally pegged to be a three-team event, Waynoka was forced to cancel at the last minute, leaving only the two district rivals to compete.
It was pegged as a tall task for the Wildcats, considering the Tigers are ranked as one of the top teams in Class B heading into the season and Seiling is set to have younger roster consisting of eight freshman on the 24-man squad. Still, Coach Gary Manuel and the Wildcats were up for the challenge and showed a surprise amount of physicality for an undersized team.
“I’ve been on both sides of this with scrimmages,” explained Manuel. “I’ve come out of some scrimmages thinking that it’s going to be a long year, and in this case, I think it is going to be a really fun one.” On offense, Seiling fea
