Seiling’s Ethan Louthan participates in OKC tournament
While athletes across the state are finally getting to participate in workouts and games, Seiling’s Ethan Louthan has been competing with his travel team for three weeks now on the baseball diamond. This past week, Louthan and Skills Baseball 17U took part in the 2020 Perfect Game Baseball Association’s 17U Open in Oklahoma City.
“It feels a lot like it’s February,” explained Louthan. “We’ve got low pitch counts right now because we haven’t gotten the chance to throw like we would have playing school ball the past few months. Hopefully by July we will be able to throw like we usually do this time of year. I was fortunate to have guys in Seiling like Zane Sander and Kaden Manuel playing catch with me at times to keep my arm going and keeping me in shape. Without that, I’d probably be icing my arm from arm pain after an inning or two.”
Over the four-day event, the team went 3-1 with Louthan pitching and getting some time at the plate over the stretch. On Thursday the team defeated Canes Southwest 6-1 in Tuttle, before traveling to Hefner Park in Oklahoma City for an 18-5 thrashing of USA Prime Martin on Friday.
