Lady Cats top Thomas for sixth win of season
After a busy week to open the season, Seiling only competed three times last week, dropping contests to Arapaho-Butler and Hammon before defeating the Lady Terriers of Thomas for the second time this season. The Lady Cats are now 6-5 on the year, already having doubled their win total from 2019.
The Lady Cats kicked off the week on Monday with Arapaho-Butler in town. After each plated a run in the opening frame, the Lady Indians scored four unanswered runs over two innings to take a commanding lead heading into the fourth.
Seiling battled back in the fourth when Alee Hunt walked, stole second, then advanced to third on a passed ball. Montana Farris later hit a sacrifice fly to trim the deficit by a run, but Arapaho-Butler got one back in the following inning to go up 6-2.
Each team scored a pair of runs in the seventh, and that is how the scored ended, with the Lady Cats falling by a count of 8-4. Madison Klaver continued her hot start to the season with a three-hit night, connecting on three singles in her four plate appearences.
