Lady Cats rebound with win over Thomas

After two tough losses to powerhouse opponents early in the week, the Seiling Lady Cats bounced back with a solid 11-8 triumph over Thomas on Thursday to improve their record to 4-5 on the young season.

Seiling dropped 9-7 and 10-2 decisions to Arapaho and Hammon in earlier action but cashed in several timely hits including big games from Emalee Shook and Kyndall Tune in the win.

The Lady Cats will return to action in the rugged Arapaho Tournament on Thursday, once again facing Mooreland in the opening round at 3:20 p.m.

In the Arapaho defeat, the hosts fell behind 7-0 in the opening two frames before a big comeback to make things interesting.

Seiling cashed in on six free passes and utilized its speed in the third stanza to trim the margin to a single run but that’s as close as they came while totaling just five hits. Abbi McCurley smacked a double while Shook, Katon Mackey, Harli Feaster and Alee Hunt added a single apiece.

It was a tough day all around against a juggernaut Hammon club as they posted just two hits offensively, committed four errors and issued eight walks.
