Lady Cats claim 3rd in Mustang tourney
For the fourth straight year, the Seiling Lady Cats spent part of their Christmas break competing against some of the state’s best teams.
This season it was the inaugural Cornerstone Mustang Invitational and one cold shooting quarter was possibly the only thing that kept the three-time defending Class A champs from taking the tournament title against a trio of Class 6A foes.
“The best part about the tournament was to get in games where we had to go compete for four quarters,” head coach Brady Hamar commented. “We got in some situations we haven’t been used to this year but should prepare us for later on.
“The good thing about playing teams like that, it should get us ready for a team like Fairview that we play next week.”
Seiling got off to a blazing start in the event, sinking 11 three-pointers in a 76-48 thumping of seventh-ranked Midwest City.
