JH Wildcats dominate Dewey County Tourney
Last week, Seiling played host to the Dewey County Junior High Tournament where eight teams across Northwest Oklahoma competed in a threeday event. Despite the flu bug going around, both Wildcat teams were able to cruise easily through their three games to be named Tournament Champions.
For the girls, they kicked off the event with a Monday-night matchup against the Taloga Lady Panthers. The Lady Cats wasted no time jumping out to a big lead, as their full-court pressure and ability to finish at the basket led to them putting up 21 points in the opening frame.
On the other hand, Taloga was limited to a single free throw in the first quarter, giving Seiling a comfortable 20-point advantage. Seven different players scored for the Lady Cats in that quarter, as Braci Nyberg, Aryahna Whetstone and Tatum Nichols each led the way with four points.
