Drive for 5: Lady Cats set to start new chapter

When the 2019-2020 Seiling basketball season tips off during the first week of December, the Lady Cats will be taking the court with a much different look than we have grown accustomed to over their four-year run as state champions. A 2019 senior class that was part of each of the 113 wins during that four-year span will no longer be suiting up for Coach Brady Hamar and the Lady Cats.

Instead, a fresh group of faces will be joining those few who did have a hand in the past title runs to continue the tradition of excellence that is intertwined with Seiling basketball program. After three years of the same core returning to their familiar roles from the prior season, each and every player on the roster will have to be prepared to shoulder more responsibility than they have done to date as a part of this team.

“It is definitely different,” stated Hamar. “We aren’t going to go score 75 points every night like we’ve done in the past. I promise you everyone is still going to want to beat us after this past few years of having a target on our backs. I talked about it with them this summer. People have been waiting for their chance, and we are going to get everyone’s best effort.”
