Athletics shine with completion of new facilities
Lost in the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown was the completion of the brand-new multi-purpose facility located on the south end of the football field. This facility, along with the softball field just east of it, were part of the 2016 bond that also included the new school that just wrapped up its first academic year.
The facility is expected to be able to benefit the football, baseball, and softball team. It consists of two locker rooms, coaches’ offices, restrooms, a concession area, and a workout room that includes four batting cages.
“Most of our students haven’t even been inside it yet,” high school principal and future superintendent Greg Gregory joked. “But this facility is something that is going to be so magnificent for our kids. It’s such a tremendous asset for our community because people use to have to travel to Oklahoma City to get an indoor facility with batting cages and get some professional instruction.
