14U Lady Cats wrap up season with shutout

The Seiling Lady Cats saw their softball schedule reach its end last week with a 5-0 victory over the Lady Oilers from Merritt. The victory means Seiling finishes the season with a winning record at 5-4 record, after splitting a pair of games the prior week.

On June 22, the Lady Cats dropped a close one to Elk City, 3-2, before defeating Arnett 14-8. In the loss to Elk City, Brie Hedges collected two of Seiling’s five hits with a pair of singles in the contest.

Kenly Gore added a triple, while Karley Smart smacked a double and Kadence Griffin had a single. Griffin also joined Hedges as the only two Lady Cats to score a run.

Both scored in the bottom of the final inning before Gore hit her two-out triple to put the tying run 90 feet away from home. Unfortunately, they would not be able to add that final hit to plate the tying run.
