Transition finally begins to new school building
After more than year filled with optimism and then delays, the Seiling School Board finally got the all clear during Friday’s special session to begin moving into the new school building this week.
Although there were still some finer points to iron out on a signed punch list of items from Boynton Williams and Associates Architects and Nabholz Construction, the Board felt it was enough on the substantial completion document for Phase 1 which they signed off on Friday.
The continually debated hot water issue, or lack thereof, in the science lab is one of the items still on the punch list, according to Superintendent Randy Seifried.
Upon signing the substantial completion document as well, the oneyear warranty agreement with Nabholz kicks into effect for the new building.
“We are kind of in a pinch on the time line once again, but we have been in that situation for the last year,” Seifried told the Board on Friday. “I feel like we need to make the move on the sign off now in order for us to have everything prepared for the start of classes in the fall.”
