Seiling routs Waukomis on Homecoming
Seiling’s Wildcats had little resistance from Waukomis on Friday as they dispatched the visiting Chiefs 46-0 in a two-quarter mercy rule to celebrate Homecoming in style.
With the blowout victory, the Wildcats improved to 4-0 on the season. But unlike their three previous outings in which they averaged over 300 yards on the ground, it was the passing game that fueled the offense this time around.
“We went to more of an air attack,” stated Coach Gary Manuel. “We knew we could have success because of the way they were covering us. In the run game we didn’t block particularly well because of the way they were lining up. We didn’t run it like we can, but we didn’t have to. Didn’t have to give anyone a bunch of carries and get them beat up. As Coach Henderson would say, it saved wear and tear, and equipment.”
