Seiling Music Festival brings tradition for over 70 years
For more than seven decades the Seiling Music Festival has brought students and families from all over northwest Oklahoma and beyond together for one of the biggest events of the entire school year.
The festival has become almost a family ritual for many as they have embarked on the community all but one year since the inception in 1945, according to Seiling superintendent Randy Seifried, who himself has been involved with the event since the 1980s.
During those 70-plus years musicians and singers from schools as far away as the Oklahoma City metro area, Kansas and the Texas panhandle have come to compete. They even had participants from Bartlesville one year, according to Seifried.
