School Board holds first meeting in new building
The Seiling School Board held its regular monthly meeting for the first time in the Professional Development room of the beautiful new school building last week.
During the meeting the Board heard of the progress in demolition of the old building, which began last week, as well as Phase 2 of the building project that continues to head toward an end of summer completion date.
The Board took care of normal business as well as accepting the resignations of Vocational Agriculture teacher Matt Oakes, Special Education teacher Erin Barrera and Bus Driver Sheila Vaughn. They also approved the hiring of Lee J. Elder as Secondary Math Teacher, Amanda Fisher as Secondary Education Teacher, and Garrett Bensch as Vocational Agriculture Teacher for the 2019-2020 school year.
Patience Smart was approved as the Activity Fund Custodian and was authorized by the Board to invest funds according to policy.
Gayla Holsapple was approved to continue as Encumbrance Clerk and Minutes Clerk while Superintendent Randy Seifried was approved as purchase officer for the Fiscal Year 2020.
Payroll encumbrances in all funds for the new fiscal year were also approved as was the Title 1 district-wide plan along with the Reading Sufficiency Act Plan.
