Remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

It was a long struggle to create a federal holiday marking the birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It was first observed in 1986. This year is the 32nd anniversary of that historic moment in United States history.
Dr. King followed in the footsteps of his father. The 19 year old entered Christian ministry in 1948. He was ordained at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. He finished graduate studies at Boston University in 1954 and served at the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama.
