Jimmy Harrel named to Ag Hall of Fame
OKLAHOMA CITY — During a special ceremony at the state capitol last week, Gov. Kevin Stitt announced Mr. Jimmy Harrel as the recipient of the Governor’s Outstanding Achievement Award in Agriculture. The western Oklahoma rancher became the 22nd inductee into the Oklahoma Agriculture Hall of Fame, the state’s most prestigious agricultural award.
Harrel has always been a champion for agriculture. Over the years, he has worn many different hats—FFA member, rancher, rural servant, agriculture education instructor and owner of the Bank of Western Oklahoma, a premier agriculture lending bank. In each of these capacities, one thing has stayed the same: Mr. Harrel’s passion for the agriculture industry runs deep.
“We are proud of all our great Oklahoma farmers and ranchers, but we are exceptionally excited to honor Jimmy Harrel this year as an outstanding agriculturist and service-minded citizen,” Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur said. “He raises the bar for all people who would like to promote Oklahoma’s young people.”
