Matthew Brennon Parker
Matthew Brennon Parker was born on August 16, 1979 to Mike and Jeanie Parker at Fairview Hospital. He passed from this life on July 13, 2020 in Kingfisher at the age of 40 years, 10 months, and 28 days. Matt grew up on the farm near Orion. Matt really loved the farm, the deer were big, the turkeys were plenty, and the lake and family pond were just a few miles away. Matt had a passion for hunting, fishing, and work. Matt’s greatest passion was his family. Matt was a very kind, generous, and loving man. Matt was always ready to entertain and man could he cook and did it often. He attended Fairview High School and while attending there he played football, band, and was in the FFA. Matt graduated from Fairview High School in 1997. After high school he attended Oklahoma State University for four years. After school, Matt went to work for the oil field. He first started on a casing crew for Power Tongs. Matt then got a job working on a rig where he perfected each position until he reached the top. Matt loved his line of work and others could see his passion for it. HE worked in Oklahoma, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Matt loved his job, his hands, and his bosses. Matt said, and I quote, I have the best guys in the world mom.
One of his bosses quoted, “Matt earned all kinds of honors as a pusher. His rig always won rig of the month, and ultimately won rig of the year under his leadership. I spent month after month rewarding his rig with steak dinners for his accomplishments, as well as his guys he was the leader of. His accomplishments as a rig manager ultimately were responsible for him being promoted to superintendent. Matt did well as a superintendent and eventually took a job as a consultant. He went above and beyond what I felt like I groomed him for. He was smart and talented, the best hand that ever worked for me. I mentored Matt for a lot of years, but he excelled beyond my teaching. You will never know how bright and talented in the oil and gas business he was. He is one of the best I have ever worked around. Matt touched a lot of people and helped them in many ways. Your son was a great man and respected by more people than you could ever imagine. Don’t sell him short. Matt wasn’t just seen as the boss, but a leader, a friends, a brother, and an anchor. Matt was the heart of the rig.”
He later married Kim Anderson and they had three children, Wyatt Joseph, Toby Austin, and Merritt Ann. He loved his children with all his heart and he was so proud of them. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them.
He is survived by his children, Toby and Merritt Parker of Lawton, OK; his girlfriend, Tiffany Farrar and her children Kyle and Kooper Fahlenkamp of Kingfisher; his mother and step dad Jeanie and Wayne Simons of Chester; his sister Patience and husband Kyle Smart and children Karley and Kason Smart of Seiling; his sister Jennifer and husband Chris Jackson and children Brexton and Brennon Jackson of Canton; his brother JP and wife Jenna Parker and their children Blakely, Amelia, Haley and Quaid Parker of Orion; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
