Kenneth James Archer
Kenneth James Archer, of the Seiling/Chester area, passed from this life on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the age of 90 years, 5 months, and 6 days.
Kenneth was born to Jean and Naomi (Redinger) Archer in Chester on August 17, 1929. He grew up in the area and graduated from Seiling High School. Kenneth joined the United States Marine Corps on March 20, 1952. While stationed at Camp Pendleton in California he met Janet Lincoln. The two were united in marriage on June 20, 1953 in Yuma, AZ. Kenneth was then deployed to Korea. After his honorable discharge from the service, Kenneth and Janet returned to Seiling, OK where they raised their three children: Nancy, J.B., and Bret.
Kenneth was a farmer and also ran a successful trucking/ hay hauling business. He was especially proud of his herd of Registered Texas Longhorn Cattle and the strong bloodlines he built. Kenneth and Janet were faithful members of the Friends Church of Seiling.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife Janet Archer and daughter Nancy Cantrell, and a grandchild Carrie Lenard.
Kenneth is survived by his sons, J. B. Archer and Bret Archer, three grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; brother Bobby Archer and sister Oma Jean Dunn as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services was held at 2 p.m. at the Brumfield Cemetery on Monday, January 27.
