Eletha “Lyndel” Buller
Eletha “Lyndel” Buller was born on June 14, 1947, in Mooreland, Oklahoma, to Wilber and Vivian Haynes. Lyndel grew up on a farm north of Chester, Oklahoma. She attended Elm Gove Community Church as a child. Lyndel graduated from Seiling High School in 1965. After high school she attended Draughon Business School in Oklahoma City. Upon graduation Lyndel went to work in Enid, Oklahoma at Gold Spot Dairy’s business office. While in Enid, she also worked for Midwestern Life Insurance. After raising her family, Lyndel went to work for Bethany Hospital and later Integris Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon, finally retiring in 2014. Lyndel went to the arms of the Lord on April 25, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family.
While in Enid, two events happened that impacted the rest of her life. First, she recognized her spiritual needs and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Second, she met James “Jimmy” Buller and married him in 1968. Jimmy spent the next two year in the US Army, and after discharge, they settled in Oklahoma City where he accepted employment with Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company. In 1971, they joined Northwest Baptist Church, which became an important part of nurturing their faith. Lyndel and Jimmy were active members at Northwest until 2017 when illness took hold. Lyndel was active in Bible studies, most notable Bible Study Fellowship, and participated in several mission activities.
Lyndel was first and foremost a mother to Tim and David, her two boys who were born in Oklahoma City. In 1978 the family moved to Yukon where their home and school became the focus for raising her family. Lyndel was a stay at home mom continually going to school events, soccer games, FFA events, and church activities. She loved to travel on family vacations that involved camping in many natural and historic parks. Yellowstone National Park easily become her favorite destination place. Later in life, after her boys had moved out to begin families of their own, Lyndel focused on her teenage granddaughters who hold a very special place in her heart. She supported them in many ways and loved them dearly. Lyndel was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother that always put her family’s needs before any of her own.
Lyndel was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Andrew James Buller and her brother, Dr. Alvin Haynes. She is survived by her husband, two sons and their wives; Tim and Suzanne Buller of Portland, Oregon and David and Sabrina Buller of Yukon, Oklahoma and two granddaughters, Kylie and Haley Buller, also of Yukon. She is also survived by her sister and husband, Marsha and Rick Billings of Enid, Oklahoma.
