Arlyn Ray Whetstone

Arlyn Ray Whetstone was born to Gilbert and WillaDean (Custer) Whetstone on December 22, 1944 at Fairview, Oklahoma. He entered into his eternal home on March 31, 2019 at Saint Anthony’s Hospital following an unexpected illness.

Arlyn was raised on the family farm southeast of Chester with his 8 brothers. Arlyn attended lakeside school through the 8th grade and graduated in 1962 from Seiling High School. Arlyn spent his career in the oilfield working as a Roughneck and Driller from which he retired.

During Arlyn’s marriage to Helen Turner, they had two sons, Scott and Tony. Later in life Arlyn and his wife Robin raised their children Rusty and Daisy on the farm in Chester. Arlyn married Carol Hamilton on June 9, 2014 after which God showed them how to love each other as best friends until the day of his death. He will be lovingly remembered by Carol’s children and grandchildren who loved him as Papa.

Arlyn lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, teaching his nieces and nephews a variety of things from riding horses, driving a tractor, a stick shift or just how to get a fishing line rigged up correctly. Arlyn enjoyed all the times he was around family and friends. His greatest joy in life though came from being a Grandfather. He enjoyed spoiling and loving on all 10 of his grandkids.

Arlyn was proceeded in death by his parents Gilbert and WillaDean Whetstone, three brothers, Donnie Whetstone, Gary Whetstone and George Whetstone and one infant grandson.

He is survived by his four children Scott Whetstone, Tony Whetstone and wife Linda, Rusty Whetstone and Daisy Haffner. Also 10 grandchildren, Briana, Thomas, Mckenna, Haven, Kasin, Blatyn, Nevaeh, Kloie, Meah and Kash. Five brothers, Larry and wife Debbie, Randy and wife Christine, Merie, Danney and wife Donna, and Kenny. A host of nieces, nephews and many other family and friends.

Arlyn will be missed by many.
